This time of year people focus so much on giving thanks for all that they have in life. My own life has things I am grateful for. I am grateful for my health, my Dad, and my dog, Barris. With each day I try to think about the good things in my life and somehow my life appears to be so much brighter. Just the mere mind focus and shift to positivity and gratefulness creates this amazing feeling of success and accomplishment by having something to be grateful for. The truth is we all have things to be grateful for… life itself is a gift. Everyday we wake is an opportunity to give love to others, which is the pipeline to happiness. (Acts 20:35).
Just under estimating how much we’re gifted with finds us in denial that life is a gift. If we hate our life then change it. If we love our life then more things to love keep coming our way. Can we justify hope if we don’t show faith?
I am grateful for my Mom who never gives up on me even when I give her little reason to dream . I am grateful for the blue sky and ocean breeze, especially after a Santa Ana wind quickly moves out. High tides at the beach send me to a place of utter bliss as the waves bash my sorrows away. I am grateful for horses who rock me to dream like a baby when I ride.
Everyday something we experience is worthy of gratitude, some days obviously more than others. Watching the news so many people who have fame, money, and everything the world views as a dear sweet life, are often times checking into hospitals or rehab? Say what you may, but remembering who we are, grateful to everyday, is a healthy way to live.
So lets take the opportunity to live with gratitude everyday, not just today.
Your friend in gratitude,
